More About Relationships

For many different reasons, we may find relationships to be difficult, tiring, or may feel like we are not getting what we want or need from our relationships. This may be related to being an introvert, trauma experiences, or communication skills. Regardless of the cause, relationships and connections with others are very important to our overall wellbeing. If relationships are not thriving, likely you will not be feeling your best.

Many things can get in the way of having healthy relationships. We may not have learned good ways of communicating or healthy boundaries growing up. We may struggle with our own sense of worth or value, which can make it difficult to be assertive or make requests for needs from others. We may have had difficult or abusive experiences with peers, family members or partners in the past. All of these things can make it feel hard to communicate our feelings, needs and thoughts in a way that makes it more likely for us to get the results we are seeking.

I can help in a number of different ways. We can explore your previous experiences to understand the barriers to healthier and more satisfying relationships, learn more effective skills around communication, boundary-setting and identification of needs, and work on your relationship with yourself so that you feel more deserving of respectful and loving relationships.
